How to set up a Microsoft Xbox 360

This is gudie to set up your Xbox 360 and play a game in HDMI and Standard

Hi there this a is a setup for connecting a Xbox 360 to a T.V and setting up a game.

As you can see there are some weird looking cables but this tutorial should help you become a tech genius.

The tutorial is preformed in a step by step guide and problems leave a comment below this tutorial.

Step.1 Cable Understanding.

As you can see there are a lot of cable with your Xbox 360. Some you may have seen before and some may be brand new. In this step you will learn how to recognise cables this should allow you connect up in the future without looking a guide.

There are several cables but the one that may recognise is the Red , White ,Yellow cable.

This is called a AV cable well the correct name is a Male AV cable. Now you may notice there’s a split and there a Red, White and Yellow section and a Red, Green and Blue section this side is irrelevant.

Another cable that may catch you eye is the cable with gold tips (Gold leaf paint not real). This cable looks useless but if your T.V as a HDMI cable socket then this cable will enhance your gaming experience. ( See T.V manual for further use on HDMI).

The next two cables are extremely important they contain the power source to your Xbox 360.

The first thing you see is the Box with a cable at one end. This is important is the is a AC adapter this allows your power cable to produce power for the xbox360. As you can see they will take up space but it can be hidden away quite well. Now to make it easier I shall call them Cable 1 and Cable 2.

Stage 2 The Power Setup.

Now if you have not done so create a space for your Xbox 360 now we take the Uk plug and place it into a reliable power source. Now as you can see on the AC adapter there is socket at one end attach the one end of cable 1 to the Ac adpter this should fit with relative easy ( Dont force it ).

Once this cable is plugged in it is safe to power on the plug as you can see the there I light on the Ac Adapter is this is on the setup is correct if not go back to the start and work through it.

Now to connect the cable to the Xbox 360 first you start by inputting the Ac adperter cable to into the back of the 360 as shown above. Now Cable 2 as you can see has an end similar to cable except as you can tell this attaches to the Xbox 360. Now attach this to your Xbox 360 hit the power bottom located on the front of the Xbox 360.

If the green light turns on at the front the congratulations you have successfully completed the Power on stage. If not don’t worry just go back and have a read through common problems are you haven’t put the cable 1 in far enough or the Plug is not turned on.

(If you have a HDMI TV the skip to the next stage.))

Stage 3 .

This is where you’re Xbox 360 starts to become alive I start with the AV cables remember those the Red, White , Yellow. Shown below. Now At the back of you’re Xbox 360 you will see a part where the Main part of the cable slots in Shown Below.

Now the main connecting the console to the TV.

First find the Red White and Yellow sockets on the back or front of your TV. ( Tip if your TV is a little older and you can’t find this look for a scart adapter in your 360) Then plug your AV cable in to the designated sockets so Red to Red and White to White Yellow to Yellow.

The reason they must be put into the correct sockets is the Yellow is the Video so yellow is like the primary one with out the yellow you would have no picture, and with no picture there’s no gaming.

Next you see the Red, and White these are important that there in the right order Because Red is right audio so the red allows sound to come out of the right and white is the left so it works with the left speaker. A way to remember this is Red so R for right.

If you don’t have a HDMI socket or cable please move on the Stage 5.

Stage 4

Now the main part of the Xbox 360 is there Graphics and what better way than to display them on a HDMI screen the nothing better. So why should don’t I use the basic one. Well HDMI allow your console to display pictures at a higher pixel rate where as component is lower this means the picture is weaker and the image is not a sharp.

To start find the HDMI socket located below the AV cable socket and find the one on the back you’re TV there should be two or Three on all standard TVs. Now once both are connected success fully. Power on the xbox I the picture is not found automatically you made need to hit the input or AV button on your TV remote.

Stage 5

Now find the game you want to play and hit the open disc tray button on your Xbox 360 in it is not turned on this should do it automatically. Now we will need to connect a controller up this is important as you kind of need one to play the Xbox 360. As you may see there is a little Button on the Xbox 360 front. And if you look at the back of the Xbox 360 controller you will see a button the exactly same as it. Now hit both buttons simultaneously and the Xbox 360 should have the lights beginning to spin as well as the controller. Now hit the Xbox 360 logo found on the controller in the middle of it and Both the Controller and Xbox 360 should begin to flash let go and it should move to one light on solid and one light on solid on the controller. If done correctly the you should now have control. If not restart this stage and check you’re batteries are in on the controller.

Stage 6.

Now to get the game to work first you must have the disc in the console to do this open the turn a sit the game with the picture facing towards you . So the base is facing the memory card slots shown in stage 5 Start. Now using the controller you found set up in Stage 5. The game once in should Start up automatically.

Common Problems I have found that if you play you’re Xbox 360 to much you can over heat it is so leave it to cool down or move it to a more ventilated area.

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoy this tutorial and have fun on your Xbox 360.

Information found on Wikipedia.

Now step 1. Put your PS2 in a space that is well ventilated and is fairly close to a television that is intended for your PS2 to be connected to.

Now check your TV for available video inputs. The PS2 has an AV cable this cable is extremely common and should come new with all PS2s with one side a Red, Yellow, and White.

Video is the Yellow. This cable is important that it’s new and works well as any imperfections with this cable can and will affect gameplay.

Now plug the single wend of the AV cable into the back of the PS2 this is easily found as it is on the back and they are two slots it will only fit in one. Now plug the other end of the AV cable so plug the corresponding cable in the back or front of your T.V. These inputs can be found at the back or front of your T.V. Sp plug the Red into the Red and Yellow into the yellow and white into the white.

Plug the AC adapter (Power cable) into the back of the PS2. Now plug the other side of the cord into the wall or extension lead make sure it is a reliable source of power. A red light should appear on the front of the PS2 this is just to say that it has power and is in standby and still receiving power.

Now that the PS2 is fully setup and working set up.

We will now start working on the controllers plug the controller into the controller ports on the front of the PS”. The player one port will always have a controller attached into it as most game requires the one port.

Insert a PS2 memory if one is not supplied the you can buy one at the store you purchased the PS2. Insert the memory card into the card slot above Player one controller slot. Most game requires a memory card as the ps2 doesn’t have a designated hard drive.

Now open a game up and press the open tray button located below the standby button. Once the game is in you will see a screen appear with the game CD picture and the memory card move down a highlight the game CD now press the X button on the controller.

Be sure to make sure you plug your PS2 into a power surge protector, as a power surge can do fatal damage to your console during a lightning storm or an electrical surge. This can be brought at your local power store, Home base or B&Q for example.

Make sure you have your video cords plugged into the correct colours; otherwise your signal may have bad sound along with the picture, or no picture or sound at all.

How to set up the SingStar , Eyetoy and the Steeing Wheel for a Sony Playstaion 2

Hi there and welcome to this tutorial here you will learn how to setup PS2 singstar and Sony’s eye toy for Ps2 and finally how to setup a steering wheel.

Section1 .Singstar

Section 2 .Steering Wheel

Section 3 .Eyetoy

Now to start with the Singstar. Read on for the Steering Wheel and the eyetoy.

Singstar is fairly simple to setup. First you will need a Sony PS2 fully set up and working. Next you will need Singstar game CD and the singstar microphones. Firstly you will see an adapter with a USB at one end. Plug the USB into the front of the console and plug both microphones in to the adapter. Now plug the controller in player1 is all that’s needed.

Now start up your Sony PS2 and put in a controller and the disc as normal. Allow the game to load and go through the pre installed synchronisation process to allow the microphones to work at their best. Once completed you will finally be able to play the Singstar game.

Thank You for reading the rest of the tutorial is Eyetoy and a PS2 steering wheel.

Now the Steering Wheel this setup is rather simple. First you will need a fully work PS2 with a game that is a racing for the best performance I suggest Gran turismo as it is compatible with s steering wheel.

The steering wheel is an excellent accessory and for maximum performance you will need to have an open space and a clean table or area to place the steering wheel for the most fun and usage.

Now once you have an open space and a place to sit the steering wheel we move on to connecting it to the PS2 as you can see the connector at the end of the steering wheel wire is the same as on the controllers. So simply turn on the PS2 and put in your disc then now put the steering wheel into the front socket so where you would put player 1 in. Now load the game with the steering wheel perform any setups and your finished.

EYETOY

Now the Eyetoy. Firstly you shall require a Sony Playstaion 2 and a Eyetoy and the Eyetoy game.

Now the main way to setup the eyetoy is find an open spot on top of the tv or below a position where the camera can see you and the entire room. Warning be carefull in placement if you are under a light this can be dangerous as you can hit the light and this is a common problem as the eyetoy requires some light your best bet is to put the eyetoy with you away form the light or even buy a light shade or cover something to protect you if you knock it or it falls. Now as you can see on the front of the PS2 is a USB port plug the usb on the Eyetoy camera into the PS2 usb hub at the front Power on the console and run the game now start by going through the preinstalled settings and you ready to begin gaming.
